New York, yesterday Google was officially first “Android” Phone named as G1, manufactured by HTC. Powered with Android, open source Linux customized by Google for Mobile users, G1 embedded with  all Google’s online application such as YouTube, Gmail, Google Talk, Amazon MP3, and Google Maps. By using Linux, Android can be easily customized through developed applications.

Here is some HTC G1 specifications:

  • 3.2 “ touchscreen display
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • Quad band GSM/EDGE and dual-band UMTS
  • GPS
  • Wi-Fi
  • Accelerometer

For US market, Android was available through T-Mobile with price tag $179 (with 2 year voice and data contract) and will be available for Europe market in first quarter 2009.
